Careers
Meridian Labs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit building open source tools for evaluating and understanding frontier AI models. Our flagship project, Inspect AI, was built by our founding team in collaboration with the UK AI Security Institute, and we continue to build and maintain it. Inspect is in use at AI Safety Institutes in the UK, US, EU, Japan, and Korea, and at research organizations including METR, Apollo, Epoch, SecureBio, and RAND. We also build Inspect Scout and Inspect Petri, and we run evaluations ourselves: Petri alignment audits by our team appear in recent Anthropic model cards.
Join us to build the infrastructure the field uses to measure and understand AI systems.

How We Work
- Small team, large scope. Everyone here owns a large area of work end to end, whether that’s a codebase, a research direction, or part of our operations.
- Independence and agency. We hire people who see what needs doing and do it. You’ll set your own priorities within your area, make decisions, and change how things work when they could work better.
- Open source. Most of what we build is public and used by governments, labs, and research organizations, and we work in the open with outside contributors.
- Direct collaboration with researchers. We work alongside the teams at AI Safety Institutes and research organizations who run evaluations with our tools, so you see how your work is used and hear quickly when something falls short.
- We use what we build. Our own Petri audits and pre-deployment tests run on our tools, so we find the rough edges before our users do.
- In person where we can. We prefer in-person or hybrid work in Boston, the San Francisco Bay Area, or London, and we’re open to remote for the right person.
